RESPONDING IS BETTER THAN REACTING

The more thoroughly you prepare for all types of disasters, the more equipped you will be to respond in a safe and smart manner when the disaster actually strikes. It also helps if you have accurate information, which is what TCEP provides. People tend to make bad decisions when they instinctively react while stressed out and panicked.

TO REPORT AN EMERGENCY INCIDENT…

Call 911

To report any type of emergency, including medical situations, traffic accidents, downed power lines, house fires, wildfires or anything that requires professional response, always call 911.

DO NOT CALL FIRE STATION 69 DIRECTLY TO REPORT AN INCIDENT. IT MAY ACTUALLY DELAY THE RESPONSE DUE TO THE WAY EMERGENCY CALLS MUST BE LOGGED AND DISPATCHED IN LA COUNTY.

If you must call 911 on a cell phone, keep in mind that your location is not always captured automatically. Always give the 911 operator your cell number immediately in case the call is dropped. When asked, be prepared to report the exact location of the incident.

Tell TCEP

After calling 911, use the Report an Event form to inform TCEP volunteers about problems and issues you run across. Our volunteers will verify your report and, if warranted, push the information out through our communications channels, including Twitter, and the Emergency Status Page.
